Speaking about the launch of the special themed egg last year, a spokesperson said: "As the nation’s love affair with avocados shows no sign of slowing, Waitrose has revealed a fabulous Easter egg for 2018, an egg-citing Chocolate Avocado, which looks just like the real thing.
"The unique avocado shaped mould has been designed for avo-ficianados to enjoy this Easter."
The product was hugely popular last year and this year, the supermarket say they will be adding a smaller version of the egg too.
Both the shell and stone of the faux avacado are made from Belgian chocolate, while the white chocolate middle uses "natural colouring to imitate the green flesh of the fruit".
The Waitrose team confirmed there are no avocado flavourings added so the Easter treat will taste only of chocolate.
The Chocolate Avocado, which costs £8, is available in Waitrose branches nationwide and online, with the smaller versions available in packs of three for £4 and a single small egg on offer for £2.
