Pumpkin picking season is in full swing, but where are the best patches to visit in Scotland if you want to bring your dog?
While carving a turnip is more traditional, most people these days will be picking up a pumpkin to carve for Halloween decoration this year.
There's plenty of pumpkin patches across Scotland but for those wanting to bring their dog along for a day out, one has been named one of the best in the UK.
Research has revealed the UK’s most dog-friendly pumpkin picking patches of 2023. The list compiled by meal box delivery company, HelloFresh, includes five of the best pumpkin picking patches in the UK, and one is in Scotland.
HelloFresh reviewed 100 pumpkin patches, rating them out of 10 by analysing factors, including dog-friendliness, amount of followers, average admission cost for a family, search volume and other attractions.
The Scottish addition is Cairnie Fruit Farm and Mega Maze, located in Fife.
This fruit farm is also known for its mega maze (hence the name), making it an ideal spot to take the kids to this October.
The pumpkin patch is open now and visits must be booked in advance - either a morning (10am to 12.30pm) or an afternoon slot (1pm to 3.30pm) and there's a £1.50 entry fee.
The others on the list are: Pumpkin Picking Village, Marsh Farm, Essex; Trentham Gardens, Staffordshire; Cattows Farm, Leicestershire and Tulleys Farm, Surrey.
You can also take your dog to Arnprior Farm in Stirlingshire.
