Owen Hazel of Jannettas has launched the new flavour of ice cream, which combines their trademark Italian gelato with Edinburgh Gin’s latest release, Plum & Vanilla liqueur.
The limited edition ice cream will make its debut at the popular Crail Food Festival, on the 10th and 11th June.
Because of its alcohol content, the ice cream is available for adults only but Owen Hazel will also be on hand to show festivalgoers how to create the perfect strawberry ice cream, ideal for all ages.
The Festival is returning for its seventh year with a host of local flavours, tastings, children’s activities, the opportunity to meet the makers and the now famous, Sunday Lunch at the Harbour.
The festival showcases the very best of Fife and Scotland’s food and drink producers and has become known as a event for food and drink collaborations to take place.
Owen Hazel, owner of Jannettas Gelateria, said: “What I particularly enjoy about the Crail Food Festival is the vast array and diverse number of Scottish food and drink producers it attracts into the area and with it, the fantastic collaborative opportunities it provides.
"I approached Edinburgh Gin with the suggestion of us creating a new gelato flavour, which incorporates Edinburgh Gin’s Plum & Vanilla liqueur. It was the perfect flavour to use with our creamy vanilla ice cream and I wasn’t wrong.
