Ubiquitous Chip on Ashton Lane in Glasgow has announced its Christmas food and drink menus.
Across the festive period, Ubiquitous Chip’s Corner Bar will transform into a warm and welcoming indoor-outdoor, on-street pitstop for visitors to Ashton Lane, with warming Christmas classics on offer as part of a grotto including mulled wine, Bailey’s hot chocolate, and hot toddy.
Inside there's two set menus, The Restaurant Set Festive Menu, priced at £60 per person includes dishes with Eyemouth crab, Tweed Valley rib eye, Shetland cod, Cumbrian turkey, Lanark blue, and Manjari chocolate.
Upstairs there The Chip Set Menu, priced at £45 per person.
Expect Scottish classics-with-a-twist including turkey schnitzel with roasted sprouts and pancetta, hake fillet with smoked haddock cream, sesame roast cauliflower with crispy rice and cashew, the Chip’s eternally popular venison haggis, neeps, tatties and whisky sauce, clootie dumpling and eggnog, and cranberry and poppyseed sponge trifle.
The Chip’s dining spaces, with their lush foliage and plants, koi carp filled pond, Alasdair Gray murals and other striking artworks, original cobblestone floor, glass roof have transformed into with twinkling fairy lights and decorations.
If you're popping in for drinks, The Big Pub upstairs - with its welcoming roaring fire - will be serving a range of Christmas cocktails including a mulled negroni; a Christmas spin on the classic, Baby Sham; made in the house and tastes like the original, and Chris Cringle; a short boozy drink to warm you up.
If you want to enjoy an alfresco drink this winter, the rooftop terrace will have heaters, cosy blankets, candles and music.
As 2023 moves into 2024, and as Scotland unites to celebrate the age-old tradition of Hogmanay, the Ubiquitous Chip has two dinner packages available for 31 December.
The Restaurant Hogmanay Tasting Menu and Hogmanay Vegetarian Tasting Menu is priced at £160 per person and includes Champagne on arrival and seven courses to mark the occasion.
One floor up, the Upstairs at The Chip Hogmanay Menu is priced at £100 per person offers a three courses and prosecco on arrival.
A bagpiper will greet guests at this most traditional of all Scottish rituals, followed by live music from The StereoBeats.
