The dear green place boasts a continuously growing and thriving restaurant scene.
From its various seafood establishments to its much lauded Asian cuisine offering, it is fair to say that Glasgow accommodates all palates.
Here are some of the best new openings for you to try out.
(95-107 Haugh Rd, Glasgow G3 8TY)
Ok, so it's not technically a restaurant but the achingly hip Dockyard Social carries on the good work of the Big Feed by providing a space for some of the country's best street food vendors to peddle their wares.
Choose from items like crispy honey-porter sticky chicken wings, Bulgogi beef with kimchi mayo dirty waffles, or Hirata buns all alongside much loved classics like wood fired pizza, Korean fried chicken and authentic blue corn tacos from some of the most exciting food start ups in the country.

Pairing our favourite Spanish dessert paired with some amazing ice cream is the UK's first churro and gelato parlour Loop and Scoop.
The dessert specialists certainly know how to get our attention with gelato and milkshakes on offer alongside freshly made churros - and don't worry there's plenty of vegan options too.

Ok, so they haven't opened yet but they are the most hotly anticipated opening we've seen in the city for a while.
After popping up in various kitchens across Glasgow and proving they are creators of some of the best burgers this side of the M8, EPN confirmed they are set to launch at a permanent home in Finnieston and we can't wait to see what they do when they finally do open.

Few places would be able to take the words ‘disco', 'pizza' and 'bar’, and stick them together to create something that works so well, but that's what Basta Pizza has managed to do.
With base ingredients imported from Italy, fresh toppings sourced locally and just a pinch of great music, it's the perfect place to grab a pizza on Dumbarton Road.

A Nirvana-themed cafe that caters to vegan and vegetarians? In Bloom is the kind of niche dining concept we love.
Grab a coffee and some small bites like bloomers, toasties or the excellently dubbed Doner Krisbab - named after Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic.

Ok, so technically there isn't much cooking going on in this retro arcade and snack bar, but how many other places can you go to eat Ramen and cup noodles while playing a slew of Arcade games?
A fun addition to the city's food and drink scene it's well worth checking out if you love that modern Tokyo otaku vibe.
(267 Gallowgate, G4 0TU )
Bringing BBQ and Bourbon to the Gallowgate, Van Winkle is a great place to go for a bite eat, particularly with its menu that offers plenty of small plates – which are three for a tenner – with the likes of chilli cheese fries, cauliflower bites and buffalo wings all ready to put a huge smile on your face.
Should you be looking for something more substantial, then they also do plenty of pizzas and burgers as well as meat from the BBQ pit - smoked in-house over bourbon wood chips - delivered to your plate with fries and a side for just £10.

Following the lead of fellow American cuisine purveyours Surf Dogs, Hoagies are bringing some of the US's best comfort food to the city's south side with Philadelphian favourite (they aren't just good at American Football) the Hoagie - a type of sub sandwich stuffed with amazing ingredients - the star of the show.
With no less than four different types of Mac and Cheese, Burgers galore and BBQ ribs you aren't short of options should you get bored of the aforementioned US style sandwiches.
(134 Newlands Road, G44 4ER)
For something a little more refined Fylkir of Copenhagen are taking the hygge concept to the next level with the perfect place to enjoy some classic Danish-style breakfasts and lunches with coffee all while you relax and watch the world go by.
(156 Milngavie Road, G61 3EA)
French cuisine specialists have moved from their usual location on Hope Street to Bearsden to bring an entirely new restaurant concept which offers both Gallic and Mediterranean style cuisine in a cosy cottage setting.
