Five of the best places for chicken wings in Edinburgh

They might be a modern American classic, but Edinburgh restaurants don't shy away from chicken wings - in fact, we might even do them better than our cousins across the pond.

Here are five of our favourite places in the city to tuck into a plate of wings. Whether you like them spicy or mild, there's something for everyone.

Wings

Somehow simultaneously an Edinburgh institution and a hidden gem, Wings is the only restaurant in the city with a menu that focuses entirely on chicken wings.

With more than 80 seasonings and sauces to choose from, the concept of this restaurant might be simple, but deciding what to order isn't.

Their menu is full of American fare, and luckily chicken wings haven't been missed off at Whistlestop Barber Shop.

You can order six, 12 or a whopping 24 wings at a time, depending on how hungry you are - and they're great value.

Just off the Royal Mile, the chefs at Spatch are experts in all parts of the chicken (hence the name) but their wings are particularly special.

Choose your sauce (buttermilk ranch, house barbecue, sweet and spicy, buffalo or spicy), choose how many wings you can handle, and enjoy.
