12 Easter virtual events and meal delivery kits - from afternoon tea to Sunday roast

With the Easter weekend just around the corner, many of us will be once again celebrating at home as lockdown restrictions are still in place.

With this in mind, these Scottish businesses have put together a range of home delivery options for Easter, from afternoon tea to a whisky and chocolate pairing and a Sunday roast.

Here we take a look at some of the best culinary delights to enjoy at home this Easter.

Eteaket chocolate afternoon tea

Edinburgh's Eteaket have created a special Easter chocolate afternoon tea that's available for collection or delivery.

The menu, which can be classic or vegetarian, includes a range of sandwiches, scones and patisserie as well as tea from Eteaket.

Available for delivery from Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 April between 11am-4pm, or customers can collect from the tearoom from 12-3pm.

Edinbane Lodge

This award winning restaurant with rooms on the Isle of Skye is set to reopen soon, but until then, locals can enjoy their at home kits.

For Easter the team have created an afternoon tea menu that includes finger sandwiches, scones, hot cross buns and chocolates eggs.

It is priced at £45 for two and drinks, such as Edinbane gin or wine, can be added.

Glasgow Distillery whisky tasting

Combining two favourites - whisky and chocolate - the team at the Glasgow Distillery will be leading a tutored tasting online this Easter - with packs available for delivery.

Whisky lovers are being invited to join The Glasgow Distillery at 5pm on Good Friday (Friday 2 April) or 5pm on Easter Sunday (Sunday 4 April) for the tasting that will feature five award-winning Glasgow Distillery whiskies and three paired chocolates.

Each of the three chocolates will pair perfectly with the Original ‘Fresh & Fruity’ Glasgow 1770 Single Malt, the Peated ‘Rich & Smoky’ Single Malt and the Triple Distilled ‘Smooth & Complex’ Single Malt.

Dalmahoy Hotel picnic box

Dalmahoy Hotel & Country Club is offering an afternoon tea for families or friends to enjoy al fresco.

Easter chocolate egg biscuits and daffodil-topped party cakes will make a special appearance in the picnic box with a creatively devised Easter-themed afternoon tea of sandwiches, savoury bites, cakes and scones from Dalmahoy’s head chef.

Dalmahoy’s Easter afternoon teas will be available for collection for Edinburgh residents from 2 – 4 April from the hotel.

Loveable Rogue Sunday Roast

One of Glasgow's newest gastro pubs has been offering a Sunday roast at home throughout lockdown, and Easter Sunday is no exception.

Customers can choose from a range of at home meals, including a Spiced Moroccan Lamb four course Easter feast.

Thyme 2 Dine

Quality Meat Scotland (QMS) and Glasgow-based Thyme 2 Dine have teamed up on a second limited edition Easter menu, this time featuring Scotch Lamb PGI, which will be available for two weekends over the Easter holidays (2-3 and 9–10 April).

Thyme 2 Dine’s head chef and co-founder Peter Carey has crafted the menu using high quality, locally sourced Scottish ingredients to deliver restaurant quality dining to homes in Scotland in their thyme green box.

Taking centre stage among the main course options is a slow cooked Scotch Lamb PGI shoulder in cumin and marsala wine, pickled celeriac and kalamata olive sauce.

Diners can take their pick from two starter options and satisfy their sweet tooth with a salted caramel Easter egg dessert, while complementing the entire meal with their choice of red or white wine chosen by Thyme 2 Dine co-founder Lukas Krischke.

Falls of Dochart Smokehouse hamper

The Falls of Dochart Smokehouse have put together a hamper full of Scottish produce to enjoy this Easter.

Inside you'll find freshly smoked salmon, smoked cheddar, a chocolate bar made by the renowned Highland Chocolatier, and a jar of delicious Spice Harmony chutney.

Priced from £58, shoppers have the option to add Glenturret whisky or Falls of Dochart gin.

‘Contini At Home’ Easter Sunday menu

Tuck into some classic Italian fare this Easter weekend with a special Contini Easter Sunday menu.

Available for collection from Contini on Edinburgh’s George Street after 1pm or for local delivery in Edinburgh before 3pm on Easter Sunday (6 April) only, Contini’s Easter Sunday menu includes homemade focaccia with I'Ciacca extra virgin olive oil; Burrata with fresh broad beans and roasted hazelnut; roast rump of lamb with salsa verde sprouting broccoli and spring potato; and Bombolini with Amalfi lemon crema Pasticceria.

The vegetarian menu option is pea risotto with fresh mint and Errington's goats curd.

McLarens on the Corner

A popular Edinburgh foodie destination has announced plans to stage its first outdoor family Easter egg hunt on Good Friday (Friday 2 April) from 10am-1pm.

McLarens will be offering an Easter-themed set weekly meal club menu, including caramelised onion and rosemary focaccia; Clyde Valley lamb; and an Easter Sundae; as well as a sweet twist on the traditional Scotch Egg and Easter-themed bubble waffles and milkshakes from McLarens’ Scranavan food truck.

McLarens on the Corner has continued to be community hub for Edinburgh foodies throughout lockdown, offering restaurant quality dining and street food for collection and delivery, as well as cocktails and craft ale.

East Coast click and collect

One of East Lothian’s popular family seafood restaurants and fish & chip shops is offering a special menu package for Easter weekend.

The Easter menu includes locally caught East Coast lobster (half lobster and whole lobster available) with garlic butter and twice cooked chips; as well as East Coast’s famous award-winning fish and chips.

East Coast Eton Mess and prosecco is also available to order.

East Coast’s ‘Click & Collect’ takeaway and walk in orders are available on Good Friday and Easter Saturday (5pm to 8pm), Easter Sunday (4pm to 7.30pm) and Easter Monday (5pm to 8pm).

Eusebi Deli’s Easter picnic brunch experience

Enjoy an Easter weekend free of cooking with Eusebi’s six plate picnic brunch experience.

The much-loved Glasgow deli is offering the picnic brunch to takeaway, with a menu that includes: lamb arancini served with aioli, leek, pea and asparagus terrine, hot smoked salmon cured in-house, new potato salad with a creamy mustard dressing and a fine green bean salad.

Dessert is a white chocolate and pistachio lollipop fresh from the Eusebi bakery, and a vegetarian brunch option is also available.

The brunch menu requires optional heating and comes with handcrafted chocolates as an extra surprise gift.

Shoppers can collect on 3 and 4 April from the deli.

The Redshank Catering Company

Established by Jamie and Ann Marie Ross in 2018, The Redshank is a mobile seafood catering trailer (food truck) based in the Highlands capital of Inverness offering freshly cooked, locally sourced seafood and produce.

Customers can enjoy some classic dishes this Easter, such as Cullen skink, Shetland scallops & Stornoway black pudding, kedgeree, ox cheek in local stout, Orkney crab meat and much more.
