BrewDog has gotten into a social media chat with Marmite, as the brand tweeted how it could help with the shortage of yeast.
Fans of Marmite will have been dismayed at the news last week that the brand was no longer able to sell large jars due to a lack of brewer's yeast.
Marmite lovers who haven’t been able to get their hands on large jars of the spread have coronavirus to blame for the current shortage.
Unilever, which owns the brand, has said it has temporarily stopped producing all pack sizes of the product, other than its small 250g jar.
The brand confirmed the news on social media, stating that the temporary measure is due to brewer’s yeast (a key ingredient) being in short supply.
Since the announcement, beer brands have offered to step in to help - including BrewDog.
Posting on their social media, the Scottish brewers said: "Hey @marmite hear you’re a bit stuck, we think we can help. Sorry haters."
The post included a picture of the iconic Marmite jar with a 'powered by Punk IPA' sticker across the front.
Marmite replied saying: "BrewDog you smarty pints..." to which the BrewDog team added: "A toast (with Marmite) to the perfect match."
Fans replied to express their excitement if this collaboration was to go ahead, with one saying: "That would be the best Marmite ever!"
Another added: "Make it happen."

One suggested a BrewDog version of Marmite titled Punkmite while others reminded us of the Guinness Marmite collaboration years ago.
Fans needn't worry as the small 250g jars of Marmite are still available - it's only the larger jars or squeezy bottles that have been affected.
Responding on Twitter to a fan keen to find one of its larger 400g squeezy jars, Marmite said, “Due to brewers yeast being in short supply (one of the main ingredients in Marmite) Supplies of Marmite have been affected.
“As a temporary measure we have stopped production of all sizes apart from our 250g size jar which is available in most major retailers.”
This shortage may not be for long as Carlsberg has beaten BrewDog to it and stepped in to help Marmite during lockdown.
Carlsberg’s ambition to reduce its waste means that the additional yeast that comes from the increased brewing (to ensure supply is in place for when pubs reopen) is helping to save the Marmite shortage too.
This year alone, 87 per cent of the yeast from Carlsberg UK’s brewing at its Northampton brewery, has supplied Marmite, with an increase from the beginning of the year (46 per cent in March, 79 per cent in April and 112 per cent in May) as the demand for the spread surged during lockdown.
