The Ayrshire Food Fayre is celebrating its one year anniversary this month and has for the last year been bringing together local food producers and the local community under one roof.
The Food Fayre is a fresh take on the traditional farmers’ market in that it’s all held under the cover of a marquee. Producers and visitors do not have to be put off by the weather as everything is under cover.
Kids are encouraged to come along and try out something new every month with free kids sessions offered each month, from mini cookery classes, to princess storytelling to this month’s mini zoo, there’ always something to keep kids entertained.
The venue, The Cook School Scotland also boasts an on site café offering hot and cold snacks, freshly made scones and delicious cakes.
The market brings together a range of local food producers with produce including meat & poultry, fish, Fruit & Veg, charcuterie, cheese, chocolate, bakery and much more.
Producers such as Butcher Nethergate Larder and Cedar Cottage, fruit & veg specialists Rhone Cottage and spice blend makers Flavour Magic will all be in attendance.
This month the Fayre will also be running free mini zoo sessions from kids from 2 upwards.
The Animal Man Mini Zoo will give kids the chance to hold six different animals including rabbit, guinea pig, duck, chicken, tortoise, and snake.
