6 new Scottish products you can now buy in the supermarket

These brands have listings in high street supermarkets, making it even easier to shop local.

From a new flavour of yogurt to a Speyside single malt, these Scottish products can now make up your shopping list.

Benriach Original Ten

Whisky lovers are now able to purchase Benriach's new Original Ten, as is it available across 175 Waitrose stores throughout the UK.

This follows Benriach’s recent unveiling of its new distinctive flavour-forward portfolio of Single Malts and a new look inspired by the distillery’s creative heritage.

Known for its long-standing tradition of distilling classic, peated and triple distilled whisky and a vast eclectic cask inventory sourced from around the world, artistically crafted by Master Blender Dr. Rachel Barrie and her team.

Matured for at least ten years in bourbon barrels, sherry casks and virgin oak, The Original Ten has layers of orchard fruit, honeyed malt and toasted oak, all interwoven with a subtle trace of smoke.

The whisky is now available in Waitrose stores at £38.

Rora Dairy fudge yogurt

The latest flavour from this Aberdeen dairy is now available in Sainsbury's across Scotland, priced at £2.20.

This creamy treat has just the right amount of sweetness to appeal to adults and children, and is free from artificial colours, flavours, sweeteners and preservatives.

Rora dairy launched its range of premium Scottish yoghurt back in 2017.

The dairy prides itself on the simplicity and purity of its product, which is made entirely from local ingredients farmed in a responsible and conscious way.

The team also uses a non-invasive farming technique, which allows the cows to choose when and how often they are milked.

Pickering's Scottish Botanicals Gin

This new release from the Edinburgh distillery is part of Lidl's latest Scottish Gin Festival, which launches in stores on Thursday 27 May - priced at £22.99.

A twist on Pickering’s best-selling London Dry gin, Scottish Botanicals takes inspiration from our rugged land with, notes of heather, Scots Pine and bog myrtle.

The team say this new gin is best topped with premium tonic water, and served with blackberries and a slice of apple to garnish.

Pickering’s co-founder and head of export Marcus Pickering, said: “The Scottish Botanicals Gin has been an exciting one to create due to the challenge of balancing our famous Pickering’s recipe with the new botanical flavours."

Millions Iron Brew jelly babies

Developed by Greenock-based confectionery producer, Golden Casket, the Millions Iron Brew Jelly Babies (99p, 200g) were originally launched as part of Aldi’s Next Top Product competition earlier this year.

The product brings Scotland’s best loved flavour to the market in a new format, and is now available as part of Aldi's core range in Scotland.

Mara Seaweed

Mara’s seaweed flakes – otherwise known as 'healthy salt’ - are sold in Tesco stores, in the Herbs and Spices aisle.

The products were recognised by Tesco in 2019 as offering something different and exciting: a way of reducing sodium salt intake with a mineral-rich alternatives that tastes delicious.

Podberry

Podberry is the UK’s first freeze-dried seasoned snack product made with Scottish-grown peas, grown and made in the heart of Perthshire.

Freeze dried on the farm before natural flavours are added, enhancing the sweet taste of the pea, the product is then packed ready to enjoy.

Shoppers can now pick up these healthier snacks in Lidl and Morrisons, priced at £1 per pack.

Flavours include: Sea Salt & Balsamic Vinegar, Sweet Chilli Ham Hock and Parmesan & Truffle.
