1. Glasgow's Fish Plaice, Glasgow Cross
Despite the use of punnery and interesting chalkboards, this place (plaice?) couldn't get more serious about fish. Based at Glasgow Cross, the Fish Plaice has been selling fish for just over four decades and is a Glasgow institution, there's few better places to get some fresh fish and even fresher patter.
Selling everything from the freshest lobster, monkfish and scallops you'll be spoiled for choice. Best of all they also carry a selection of fruit and seasonal game so you might just find yourself making weekly trips to the Fish Plaice.
