5 of the best cheap Sunday lunches in Glasgow

Sunday lunches are often the best meals of the week and going out to enjoy them shouldn't have to break the bank.

We've put together a list of our favourite cheap places to eat that don't scrimp on the quality, so you can spend less time worrying about the bill and more team enjoying good company and tasty food.

Roasters Deli

(192 St Vincent St, Glasgow G2 5SG)

The ultimate Sunday brunch destination, if you haven't been you really need to go.

Specialising in "Fast, Slow Food", every dish is made to be comforting and delicious, it's literally an Aladdin's cave of North American style breakfast and lunch dishes - think pancakes, breakfast sandwiches, burgers, grilled cheese sandwiches, poutine, hot dogs and Sunday roasts - each time you go you'll discover something new to enjoy.

Select any of the mains and you can expect to pay less than £8, throw in a coffee and a side and you'll still pay less than £15 per person, you'll even have enough cash left over to chip in and share one of their amazing desserts.

McPhabbs

(23 Sandyford Pl, Charing Cross, Glasgow G3 7NG)

Continuing the theme of gorgeous American-themed comfort food, McPhabbs take Sunday brunch to a new level with their excellent Soul Food Sundays.

Think Sunday Roast but Southern American style, with the west end bar's own special fried chicken, collard greens, charred corn and a biscuit & gravy all on offer for just £9.50 per person.

It's delicious and cheap to boot, meaning you can have a fun, filling Sunday lunch for under a tenner.

Bloc+

(117 Bath Street, Glasgow, Lanarkshire, G2 2SZ)

The best 8 new restaurants and bars in Edinburgh - including Mara and Manahatta

The story of Bloc+ really should be titled: "How a late night bar became one of the go to foodie destinations in Glasgow".

Over the past year, the basement bar on Bath Street has been hitting the headlines for all the right reasons with amazing dishes like the Not Dog and the vegan Big Mac.

Their success story is mainly down to the Mad Chef Danny McLaren and his team and their irreverent takes on typical bar menu staples.

On a Sunday though, steak is king, and Bloc+ offer an unbeatable deal with their T-Bone for a Tenner.

You get a huge 12 oz Scottish T-Bone steak - with fries and a tomato - and it will cost you, yup you guessed it, just £10.

Don't worry, there are also plenty of customisable add-ons - such as onion rings (£2), peppercorn sauce and Durty Gravy (both £1.50) for those looking for that extra flourish and plenty of other great menu items (vegan and vegetarian included) for those seeking something a little different in the taste department.

The Grill on the Corner

(21-25 Bothwell Street, Glasgow, G2 6NL)

Sometimes you just want to treat yourself to a traditional Sunday Roast and as the theme here is low price but great quality, we've chosen the Grill on the Corner's stunningly good value deal.

Choose from roasted beef, pork or a half chicken with all of the trimmings including roasters, home-made gravy, a mountain of veg and of course a giant Yorkshire pudding all for just £12.95 per person.

Add in the gorgeous surroundings, impeccable service and expansive drinks menu and you've got a Sunday afternoon made in heaven.

The Raven

(81-85 Renfield St, Glasgow G2 1NQ)

The chance to combine a pint or two with some great food is too good to pass up after a long week (or a particularly hectic weekend) and in our mind The Raven offers the perfect blend of both.

With more craft beers and real ales than you can shake a font clip at, The Raven also does a roaring trade in luscious comfort food to sate even the largest of appetites.

On a Sunday, you'll find a cracking deal on 5pm.co.uk with platter number 6 (that's a half rack of ribs, chicken, pulled pork and brisket), two sides - choose from the likes of Mac & cheese, hot & spicy cheesy fries and onion rings - and two drinks for just £27 for two people, that's pretty much unbeatable in our eyes.
