The Whisky Exchange reveals its limited edition Black Friday whisky

For those looking for a limited edition whisky this year, the Whisky Exchange's annual release may be for you.

The Whisky Exchange has announced its highly anticipated annual Black Friday limited-edition single malt whisky.

This year, the brand will be selling a one-off, fruity 15-year-old Lowland whisky from Glenkinchie distillery, priced at £84.95.

The team say its profile is classically elegant, with orchard fruit and blossom complemented by a touch of sweetness and spice.

Matured in a mixture of both ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks, it is a complex and layered single malt, balancing fresh and fruity notes against richer and darker flavours.

The Whisky Exchange keeps shoppers guessing by not revealing all of the details of the whisky until it launches, but year after year the release is a sell out success.

2023’s Black Friday whisky launches online at 6am, Friday 24 November 2023, and in The Whisky Exchange stores at 11am, with very limited stock available.

You can find out more via the Whisky Exchange website.

Tasting notes for the Whisky Exchange Glenkinchie 15 year old

Whisky Exchange Black Friday

By Billy Abbott, brand ambassador at The Whisky Exchange

Nose: Green grass, pears and white peaches. Herbal hints (mint and tarragon) with meadow flowers and a touch of citrus zest: lemon and lime. Buttered toast follows, with green apples and a sprinkling of candied peel.

Palate: Sponge cake topped with apple and studded with bright sultanas and spicy gingerbread. Richer and darker notes hide behind, with raisins and dried blackcurrants balanced by fresh green apples, just ripe pears and citrus oil. Nutty notes build with a touch of wax-polished oak, all backed up by gentle baking spices.

Finish: More buttered toast and polished oak, fading to leave orchard fruit and flowers.

Comment: An elegant and old-fashioned whisky of a style that we rarely see these days. Complex and fruity with layers of spice, nuts and grassy meadows. My kind of dram.
