Whisky fans invited to test their knowledge in new virtual quiz - with proceeds going to charity

Whisky fans can test their dram knowledge while raising money for The Drinks Trust in this new virtual quiz.

Distilleries, Old Pulteney, Balblair, anCnoc and Speyburn have teamed up with The Whisky Lounge to host Malt Teasers - a free and interactive whisky quiz, featuring special guests and exclusive on the spot-giveaways.

What to expect

Taking place on Thursday 30 July, from 7 pm- 8pm, the quiz will be co-hosted by whisky ambassadors from all over the world, who will test whisky fans knowledge on the four-round quiz, which has been designed to cater to all levels - from aficionados to those new to whisky.

Four multi-award-winning whiskies from Old Pulteney, Balblair, anCnoc and Speyburn will be tasted throughout the quiz, with an exclusive kit from The Whisky Lounge - available for those who wish to join in.

The tasting kit retails at £25 and includes a sample from each of the participating distilleries – anCnoc 12 years old, Balblair 15 years old, Old Pulteney 15 years old and Speyburn 15 years old.

£5 from each kit sold will be donated to The Drinks Trust, a charity committed to providing support for the drinks industry workforce since 1886.

Led by whisky experts Lukasz Dynowiak and Eddie Ludlow, the tasting will take guests on a journey around the distilleries, from the rolling hills of anCnoc to the Highland spirit of Balblair before be transported to the dramatic North-East coast with the briny flavour of Old Pulteney, with plenty opportunity for discussion and questions on each.

Lukasz Dynowiak, global brand ambassador at International Beverage said: “We’ve put a lot into making sure this quiz is not only highly entertaining and interesting but also equips our guests with some great knowledge to impress their friends with when they return to the local.

“We’ve all done a lot of quizzes recently, but we wanted to give people a little extra. That’s why we’ve lined up Brand Ambassadors across all the whiskies, surprise guests and amazing prizes to be given out from start to finish. This is not one to miss.”

Eddie Ludlow, co-founder of The Whisky Lounge said: This is a brilliant opportunity to sample four beautifully complex malts in a fun setting, with expert representatives from our partner distilleries on hand to guide you through the tasting experience.

"Can’t wait to see you all there, Slàinte.”
