Whisky connoisseurs raise a glass to launch of Aberdeen's first premium whisky lounge

Whisky connoisseurs in the north east were treated to a new experience this month with the official launch of Aberdeen’s first premium whisky lounge.

Located within Sandman Signature Aberdeen Hotel and Chop Grill & Bar on St Andrew Street, Freedom An’ Whisky offered guests a taste of the lounge’s extensive menu which boasts over 150 premium single malts, sourced from Scotland’s top distilleries, as well as a variety of more than 30 gins.

Masterclasses from leading brands such as Laphroaig and Glenfiddich were also served alongside a selection of complementing grazing boards.

Cherry Faurie, Freedom An’ Whisky’s very own ambassador, hosted the event offering guests the chance to hear the tales of some of the country’s finest malts whilst finding the right drink for their taste buds.

Cherry said: “Just a couple of months following the launch of Sandman Signature Aberdeen Hotel and Chop Grill & Bar we are very excited to introduce Freedom’ An Whisky to Aberdeen.

“We opened the doors to the lounge last week and the official launch event with our VIP guests was the celebration of this. Everyone really enjoyed the mouth-watering experience which showcased some of the great brands that we have partnered with to bring this new and unique venue to Aberdeen.

“This is somewhere very different for the city and we want to ensure that guests have the best visit, whether they’re enjoying a whisky-based cocktail before dinner or a dram on the rocks before bed. Whisky doesn’t have to be a serious drink so we’re welcoming all to come in, relax in our luxurious surroundings and get to know us.”

Freedom An’ Whisky is open Monday to Thursday 4pm – 12am, Friday 4pm – 1am, Saturday 2pm – 1am and Sunday 2pm – 12am.
