True OriGINs, an event which is the brainchild of Aberdeenshire brothers Mungo and Guy Finlayson, champions Scottish craft gins and will be heading to the iconic Tobacco Dock in London with an exciting array of Scottish gins and mixers for four days from 1st-4th November.
Mungo said: “Many people seem unaware of the importance Scotland has to play in the gin industry.
“In fact, 70 per cent of British gin is distilled in Scotland. As proud Scots we’re keen to spread the word and to show everyone how fantastic authentic Scottish craft gin can be.”
With the recent controversy surrounding the news that some gins that claim to be Scottish are actually distilled in England, the pair of brothers say they have collected an offering of truly authentic Scottish gins "from every corner of Scotland" to highlight the wealth of talent on offer.
Mungo added: "From the stormy shores of Shetland to the windy Western Isles and the heather-hugged hills of the Highlands to the brother’s home county of Aberdeenshire, True OriGINs are making the most of Scotland’s wild botanicals, talent and spirit".
Visitors to the festival will receive a glass which they can use to sample all of the juniper spirits on offer and also a ‘Gin Bible’ - which will describe each distillation in detail so that visitors can gain an insight into each gin they sample.
Mungo and Guy are passionate about showcasing Scotland’s gin heritage, Guy said: “We really want to take our visitors on a journey around the Scottish Isles and make the whole experience as exciting and immersive as possible.
"Eight different Scottish regions will be represented with their own bars across the venue, so festival goers can go on a thorough exploration of their unique distillations and botanicals.
"Tobacco Dock just seemed to be the perfect fit. We had visited plenty of other venues in London but the moment we walked through those iconic gates we just knew it was the ideal place for our venue.”
