This relaxed, fine dining restaurant is a favourite in the capital and a great place to celebrate St Andrews Day in.
The 'Wee Tour of Scotland' menu is ideal for anyone looking for a Scottish meal with a twist.
Dishes include: Confit and scorched North Sea hake, braised fennel, saffron potato, clams and
Loin of Highland venison, cauliflower puree, West Calder black pudding, and apple bon bon with smoked paprika.
This cheap and cheerful meal looks like a great night out for anyone, not just students. Described on the event's Facebook page, all are welcome, from 7-11pm, to celebrate Scotland's patron saint.
"We have food, drink and dancing all lined up!
"You can try haggis/vegetarian haggis, neeps and tatties (haggis, turnips and potatoes) in the New Amphion, some wonderful whiskies in the Lounge Bar and then whisk yourself of to the ceilidh in the Debating Hall!
"A Ceilidh is a big traditional Scottish party, and you're going to love it!
"Traditional dress - kilts and tons of tartan - is encouraged, but not essential."
Also on at Teviot, and requiring separate tickets, is a Whisky Cocktail Masterclass.
The newly renovated Queen Street premises of the Scotch Malt Whisky Society opened its new whisky bar to the public (it was previously member’s only) earlier this year.
This St Andrews Day, guests are welcome to come and celebrate with a tailored event - from 7-10pm - details of which are described by the society: "Our piper will welcome your arrival and we will start of the festivities with a three dram whisky tasting to break the ice.
"We will then serve a three course set menu featuring the best Scottish ingredients available to us this winter.
"We will also provide some light entertainment and story telling for this evening that showcase the best of Scottish culture."
