The visitor centre at Isle of Skye's newest whisky distillery opens

The visitor centre at the newest whisky distillery on the Isle of Skye has officially opened giving Scotch whisky fans even more reason to visit the popular island.

Torabhaig Distillery’s visitor centre opened to the public this week, marking another milestone for the distillery which began producing spirit for the first time in January  last year.

Anne O'Lone, manager at the new visitor centre, said: "We are now also able to welcome visitors to experience Skye’s second ever distillery, witness a new Island Scotch whisky in the making, and enjoy a flavour of what will be The Torabhaig single malt."

Located on the picturesque Sleat Peninsula on the Isle of Skye, the visitor centre features a shop, café and courtyard, and offers visitors tours of this exciting new distillery.

Lasting 45 minutes, the tour costs £10 per person and concludes with a guided whisky tasting.

As Torabhaig is a working distillery there is no admission to the production area for children aged 12 and under, however young adults (aged between 13 and 17) will be admitted free of charge if accompanying a paying parent or guardian.

Each tour will be limited to eight people to ensure each person is able to enjoy the tour and are given adequate time with the tour guides.
