Organised by former resident Rev DJ Mark Boyle, who was better known as DJ Muppet, the event will let Glasgow's alternative music fans "relive the tunes that made Revolution one of the greatest rock nights of the 2000s".
Taking place on the Glasgow Fair bank holiday (Sunday, 14 July), The Rev Tapes will be offering "three hours of the best rock, metal, hip hop and alt" and will run from 9pm to midnight at the Variety Bar on Sauchiehall Street.
Organiser Mark Boyle said: "I quit professional DJing 5 nearly 6 years ago, had enough of the club industry, but missed the reason I got into it in the first place, the tunes and playing the tunes!.
"A year ago I started playing again in the Variety for nothing but enjoyment, playing old school hip hop, which I still do on the last Saturday of the month."
The former DJ said the memories of those nights playing at Glasgow University's QMU were what spurred him on to bring his old club night back for one night.
He added: "Rev was nuts... No other description, pints of Jack n coke, so much Stella that your eyeballs used to want to fight and let's not start on Jagermeister.
"We had a bunch of bands hang out from 36 Crazyfists, Less than Jake and early days Biffy. We had proposals on the front steps and fire alarms from folk trying to escape bad dates (true story)!
"Those days could never, thankfully, be relived so a throwback night with the tunes that will trigger a ton of memories and stories in one of Europe's top dive bars seemed a good way to remember the chaos that was, hence 'The Rev Tapes'."
