Innis & Gunn rewards glass “borrowers” with a free takeaway beer

Innis & Gunn to hand out free beer in Edinburgh tomorrow to anyone who "borrowed" their branded glasses

Head down the Beer Kitchen on Lothian Road tomorrow between 5-7pm tomorrow as Scottish craft brewers, Innis & Gunn, will be handing out free beer to customers that have "borrowed" one of their branded pint glasses.

Innis & Gunn fans will have the chance to pick up a ‘refill bag’ of lager by simply showing photographic evidence of the glass they have previously ‘borrowed’ to staff.

Earlier this month Innis & Gunn turned blind eye to passers-by who help themselves to a free lager pint glass from the brewer’s van parked in the centre of the Grassmarket, Edinburgh. It took just 32 minutes for residents to empty the entire vehicle.

The Edinburgh-based brewer launched this campaign in reaction to the rising trend of “borrowed” glassware in the city.

Since the launch of its lager beer in 2013, over 70,000 of Innis & Gunn lager branded pint glasses have gone missing from bars and pubs across Scotland.
