Plans for a street food market in Glasgow have been given the green light by Glasgow City Council chiefs, and could become a reality within the next 12 months.
A growing number of pop-up restaurants in the city in recent months has increased consumer demand for quick, on-the-go dining in the city centre.
The council has been encouraged to take the step after surveying the public in June.
A spokesperson for Glasgow City Council said Merchant City would be the likely location for a street food market, though further details are still under discussion.
"We will sit down with Scottish Enterprise and city centre enterprises to discuss a pilot set to launch next year," the spokesperson said.
They added: "Once the [street food] document has been finalised in five to six weeks, we hope to have discussions with key partners and carry out test runs."
