The Gin Cooperative, a membership based business that supports Scotland’s gin makers and brand owners, has added the 450th Scottish Gin to their huge A - Z list of Scottish gins.
Established in December 2017, The Gin Cooperative’s website provides a variety of resources for gin lovers to enjoy - covering editorial, downloads, experiences and cocktails.
With many of Scotland’s gin producers halting production due to Covid-19 to focus on the production of hand sanitiser, a number of Scottish gin brands had postponed the launch of new gins.
With lockdown easing and the supply chain for hand sanitiser production slowly returning to normal, a number of new Scottish gin expressions have been released in recent weeks.
Speaking of the sheer number of Scottish gins, co-founder of the Gin Cooperative, Natalie Reid, said: “When we launched our website in April 2018 our A - Z of Scottish Gin was already the world’s largest online directory of Scottish Gin featuring 150 individually profiled Scottish Gins and 70 Scottish Gin brands.
"With the latest addition of Cill Targhlain Gin from Isle of Skye Distillers on the Isle of Skye, our directory now features 145 Scottish Gin brands and a staggering 450 individually profiled Scottish Gins with tasting notes, botanicals, production info and more.
"When you include super limited edition gins and niche contract distilled gins, the reality is Scotland’s gin makers have produced closer to 500 individual gin expressions”.

So far 2020 has seen the release of over 50 new Scottish Gins covering all the core gin styles and categories including London dry, navy strength, old tom, flavoured and contemporary, providing gin fans with more gins to enjoy and try.
