What is Ooshka Festival?
Ooshka is a brand new festival that aims to showcase and celebrate the beers and spirits of Scotland through tastings, master-classes and interactive workshops. With many of Scotland’s whisky festivals being dominated by trade professionals, Ooshka will introduce a new generation of people to the brilliant well known, and up & coming brands from our home country.
From whisky, beer, and cider, to gin, vodka and even rum, you are sure to find something for your palate whilst learning a little bit more about each brand.

When and where?
The festival will be held on 12th September 2015 on Glasgow’s Tall Ship, located next to the Transport museum, in three 2 hour sessions between 11am and 6pm.
Hosting the festival here ties in to Scotland’s rich history in the trading and transport of Whisky all over the world.
With over 30 of Scotland’s most loved drinks brands including Glenfiddich, Caorunn Gin, Old Pulteney, Thistly Cross Cider and Arbikie Vodka, the day of tastings, live music and nibbles is set to be an unmissible date in Scotland’s summer calendar.
In the evening, from 6.30pm until late, the Tall Ship will be transformed into Ooshka’s Alternative Ceilidh, with DJ Sony from BurghRecords and the legendary Skipinnish providing music with a contemporary twist on the Gay Gordons!

How do I get there?
Ooshka Festival celebrates some of the best-loved drinks Scotland has to offer and you’ll want to experience it to its fullest. With that in mind we want you to get there safely and on time to enjoy everything this wonderful event has to offer.
By Train/Underground:
Take the low-level train or Underground to Partick station. The Tall Ship is approximately 8 minutes walk from the station.
By Bus:
There is a regular bus service from George Square. For timetables and information see http://www.spt.co.uk/subway/maps-stations/riverside-museum/
By Car:
From the M8 west bound take junction 19 on to the Clydeside expressway (A814), or east bound via the Clyde tunnel and head towards the city centre.
Follow the brown tourist signs for The Tall Ship. Limited Parking is available. £1.00 for a four (4) hour stay.

Tickets for daytime sessions are £10 (includes 5 samples from exhibitors). There will be a £5 deposit for an Ooshka tasting glass on arrival. Strictly over 18s only.

Highlights:
Each session at the event is 2 hours long, so you have plenty of time to visit the exhibitors, sample some of your favourite Scottish brands and learn a bit more about some of the up and coming spirits and beers of Scotland. Frank Murphy from Pot Still’s ‘Hauf an Hauf’ talk is set to be a highlight, offering advice on how to match your favourite whisky with an accompanying beer. The micro-brewing workshop will also be a definite crowd pleaser, with Jehad from Grunting Growler demonstrating how to brew your own beer at home. There will also be interactive workshops and talks from head distillers and brand ambassadors at Caorunn, Arbikie and Highland Park.

Skipinnish, who will be providing the evening Ceilidh music, are well known for their contemporary covers. You can expect a Highland version of Taylor Swift or One Direction, to put a twist on the evening of cocktails and Scottish dancing!
Food and Drink:
With over 30 beers and spirits brands exhibiting at Ooshka Festival, you will not go thirsty! Each £10 session ticket provides 5 samples from the exhibitors (with an option to buy more), as well as access to the workshops, discussions and master-classes from head distillers, brand ambassadors and brand owners. There will also be a cocktail bar headed up by two of Glasgow’s top bartenders, offering an array of innovative serves, mixed with Scottish gin, vodka and whisky, which will continue into the evening event.

Shopping:
After you’ve tasted and fallen in love with some of Scotland’s top whiskies, gins and beers, you can then visit the shop and take a bottle home to enjoy or as a gift for someone special!
Frequently asked questions:
Can I bring my dog? The event will be most likely be crowded so we are afraid pets will not be allowed on the Tall Ship.
Is it child friendly? The event is strictly over 18s only, so unfortunately children are unable to attend the event.
What is the dress code for the evening? Whatever you want! Though Tartan is welcomed!
