Everything you need to know about the Feast North East food and drink festival

What is Feast North East?
Feast North East is a food and drink festival taking place in Inverurie and surrounding area until September, showcasing some of the finest food and drink producers, restaurants, farmers and retailers in the area.

The festival was launched in June, and includes a summer full of events to help individuals discover and enjoy food and drink from the Garioch area, promoting high quality local produce from Scotland’s outstanding natural larder.

Where will Feast North East be held?
The festival as a whole celebrates food and drink from Inverurie and surrounding area, but every individual event will take place at different locations. You can keep up-to-date with all of the events and their locations on the Feast North East Website (www.feastnortheast.org).

When?
The event was scheduled to run from June to August, but the festival has been so popular that it will now run until September. Additional dates will showcase fantastic events coming to the area, such as the Inverurie Beer Festival at Thainstone Exchange.

Feast North East has over 50 events taking place throughout the summer months, some of which are free of charge to the public.

The festival aims to promote the area while bringing people together to eat, drink and explore the area.

The majority of the events are suitable for all ages, but please check all the events information online to find out about ticket prices and any age restrictions (www.feastnortheast.org/events).

Cones and Candy – Supersize summer

The ice cream parlour will be serving up four mammoth ice cream desserts created especially for Feast, which will be on offer until the end of August. Sweet treats include the 14 scoop Cookie Monster, a 32 ounce Mammoth Milkshake, a ten scoop Colossus ice cream cone and The Super slider - a double decker chocolate slider.

JG Ross (Bakers) Ltd bakery tours

People are being offered a sneak peak behind the scenes at the popular bakers, during an exclusive series of tours with founder, George Ross and his son Cameron. The tour will be around three hours long and will include a meal, a talk about the history of the bakery, the opportunity to see how the famous buttery is made and a bag of butteries to take home.

This unique event will see JG Ross (Bakers) Ltd open it’s doors to the public since moving into it’s Inverurie Highclere head quarters in 2007.

Throughout the month of August guests will be getting the chance to sample some of the finest French cheeses France has to offer at the beautiful French delicatessen, The Kilted Frog.

How to try food from award-winning chef - as Caribbean-inspired pop-up comes to Scotland

Accompanied with a number of Scottish chutneys and biscuits guests will be educated on how to pair cheeses correctly through recipe cards and will get the chance to indulge in some of the delicious produce the deli has to offer.

This summer soft fruit producers, Barra Berries, is opening a roadside pop-up shop, offering guests some of the finest fresh berries in the North-east. Strawberries, raspberries and blackberries will be on sale, as well as many other delicious products including their luxury jam.

Barra Berries brand new Flavourama machine, a state-of-the-art fruit ice cream machine from Australia, and the first of its kind in Scotland, will also be set up so customers can make their very own delicious ice cream with fresh berries right in front of their eyes.

Coffee and home-bakes will also be available.

Gin and Jazz dinner with whisky and gin expert, Peter of Peaty Nose

An exclusive event which will take guests through a unique gin experience, presenting them with a five-course meal based on Scottish produce, pairing every course with Scottish craft gins. This fantastic event will also boast a professional jazz bad to entertain guests while indulging in produce from all over the North-east.
