Edinburgh-based restaurant Maison Bleue – who introduced French tapas style dining which they called ‘les bouchees’ in Edinburgh when they opened in 1998 – have reinvented this popular style of dish, almost 20 years later, with their new Street Chic Menu.
The new menu is available at their flagship Victoria Street restaurant and Maison Bleue at Home on Queensferry Street from 12pm – 10pm every day.
Customers are encouraged to share the dishes they choose, as the flavours in each dish will all compliment each other.

The new street food menu will feature ‘street-chic style’ North African, Creole and Asian dishes including, meatball tagine, king prawn and crab Vietnamese Nems (spring rolls), and South East Asian Cullen Skink.
There will be a lunch or early dinner option where guests can enjoy three dishes for £14.50 or three dishes and a cocktail for £20.
In addition, a new cocktail menu has been launched with the Street Chic Menu.
The family-run restaurant Maison Bleue specialises in French, North African and traditional Scottish cuisine, using cooking influences from each of the regions and local Scottish produce to create their eclectic and exciting dishes.

The Maison Bleue brand comprises three restaurants in Edinburgh; the flagship Maison Bleue restaurant on Victoria Street, Maison Bleue Le Bistrot in Morningside and Maison Bleue at Home on Queensferry Street.
Maison Bleue at Home was opened in 2016 as part of a collaboration with Social Bite and sees 100% of its profits donated to charity.
Maison Bleue opened on Victoria Street in 1998, offering diners a new way of eating by featuring many small dishes on the menu which were designed for sharing.
Dean Gassabi, owner of Maison Bleue, says: “We are really excited to launch our street food menu – bringing our chic style of street food to Edinburgh with dishes featuring North African, Creole and South Asian spices and flavours infused with French and Scottish ingredients."
“When we launched our Victoria Street restaurant in 1998 we were the first non-tapas restaurant in Edinburgh to offer tapas dishes on the menu and they were a huge hit, so we’re delighted to be bringing this style of dish back with our new street food themed menu."
“It’s perfect for a quick bite to eat whilst in Edinburgh, or for those looking to enjoy a cocktail and flavoursome food for a light lunch or on the way home from a busy day shopping.”
