Edinburgh bar, The Devil’s Advocate, has recently launched three takeaway whisky flights in collaboration with Johnnie Walker.
Available for delivery and collection from the popular Old Town haunt, the whisky flights have been specially curated to give people a taste of the Johnnie Walker and wider Diageo portfolio, all from the comfort of their own home.
Among the collection is the ‘Four Corners’ whisky flight, featuring the single malts which make up Johnnie Walker.
The flight includes a sample sized serving from local Edinburgh distillery, Glenkinchie, alongside whisky from Cardhu, Caol Illa and Clynelish – culminating in a tasting of Johnnie Walker Black Label.
For those who enjoy their blended Scotch, the aptly named ‘Take a Walk on the Blended Side’ flight is a great way to sample more of the famous whisky.
The flight offers a journey through the Johnnie Walker portfolio, moving from Johnnie Walker Black Label and Johnnie Walker Green Label, to Johnnie Walker Gold Label and ending with the prestigious Johnnie Walker Blue Label.
The third and final flight features single malts from some of Scotland’s most revered distilleries.
Featuring samples from Royal Lochnagar, Auchroisk, Linkwood and Mortlach, the ‘Hidden Gems’ flight is perfect for those who are keen to expand their whisky horizons and sample some of Scotland’s most special single malts.
Each flight is accompanied by an online tasting video with whisky experts guiding users through the history of each distillery, the intricate flavour profiles of each whisky, and how to nose and sample each dram like a true whisky connoisseur.
Bar manager at The Devil’s Advocate, Stefanie Anderson, said: “We’ve worked closely with the team at Johnnie Walker to develop three very different and exciting whisky flights.
"They are a great way for anyone to expand their knowledge of both single malts and blended whisky, and enjoy drams they may not have tried before.”

The takeaway whisky flights coincide with the reopening of The Devil’s Advocate and many other bars across the city, as Stefanie continued: “It’s definitely been a challenge creating a plan to reopen our venues.
"It’s clear that adaption is key and there are a lot of operational responsibilities which need to be considered, as our main priority is ensuring the best and safest possible environments to welcome back our teams and customers.

The ‘Four Corners’ flight costs £22, ‘Take a Walk on the Blended Side’ flight £25, and the ‘Hidden Gems’ flight £20. Each flight is suitable for one person.
The whisky flights are available from Wednesday to Sunday and can be ordered online from The Devil's Advocate website or collected from The Devil’s Advocate, 9 Advocate’s Close, Edinburgh, EH1 1ND.
