Extra tickets released for the Edinburgh Craft Beer Revolution Festival

Extra tickets have been released for the inaugural Edinburgh Craft Beer Revolution Festival at the Assembly Roxy this weekend.

Due to the demand for tickets for the popular new festival, which had previously sold out, organisers Richard Servranckx and Dan Quille, who want to introduce more people to craft beer with their event, have released more.

Richard explained he and Dan had been blown away by the response, he said: "So many people have messaged or emailed us to say how great the line-up of Brewers is and how excited they are to attend. The festival has created a real buzz in the city and we're looking forward to meeting all our supporters over the next few days and celebrating with great craft beer.

"We held back on selling tickets as we didn't want the festival to be uncomfortably busy, but we're pleased to say we've now put extra tickets on sale - news to beer-lovers ears. It's safe to say the revolution has begun."

The event will showcase over 70 micro-brewed beers from 14 breweries from across Scotland, the UK and Europe including Edinburgh-based breweries Pilot, Top Out and Brewgooder; Glasgow-based Up Front; Panda Frog Project from Newcastle; London-based Howling Hops and Parisis from Paris. A Gin, Wine & Cider Corner featuring Arbikie Gin and wines and ciders from Vino Wines will also be available for those who wish to enjoy the festival with a different tipple.

Festivalgoers can enjoy an exciting range of cask, keg, bottled and canned beers - some of which will make their debut appearance at the festival – including classic IPAs, lagers and stouts and more adventurous flavours such as gingerbread, raspberry ripple ice cream, marshmallow, and chocolate toffee coffee.

Richard said: “If this is your first beer festival and you’re a bit cautious of what to try I would recommend starting with pale ales like Fyne Ales’ 3.8% ‘Jarl’, or if you’re an experienced beer drinker and feeling adventurous, we’ve got a 10.5% ‘Bring Out the Imp’ stout from Alechemy. The festival is all about experiencing new tastes, talking to the brewers and having fun – we’re sure everyone will leave having discovered new favourite beers."

A Craft Beer Revolution Beer will also be available - a slightly spicy double red rye IPA brewed in collaboration with Edinburgh based microbrewery Ushers - and festivalgoers can rate each beer via the Untappd app and vote for their favourite to win the ‘Craft Beer Revolution Beer of the Year’ award.

To accompany the steady flow of beer, street food will be served from Scoff, The Buffalo Truck and Babu Bombay Street Kitchen, and Cleaver & Keg Charcuterie Trollies will meander around the festival offering meat boards to pair with visitors’ choice of beer.

A live jazz band will welcome visitors to the Main Hall and a DJ will add to the atmosphere with a jukebox style playlist of songs festivalgoers request online before the festival. Masterclasses, pub quizzes, silent movies and other surprises offer additional entertainment to guarantee a great day out with friends.
