BrewDog release Bloody Good Beer - with proceeds going towards essential period supplies

The Scottish brewer has released a new beer, with proceeds going to Bloody Good Period.

To celebrate period products being made free for all in Scotland, BrewDog have released a new beer titled Bloody Good Beer.

Posting on Twitter and LinkedIn co-founder of BrewDog, James Watt wrote: "Scotland is the first country to make menstrual products free for all.

That made us bloody proud. So, we’re launching a Bloody Good Beer. All profits will be donated to @bloodygood__ who get essential period supplies to people who need them."

The beer is described by the BrewDog team as having a ' punch of tropical guava aroma, floral and stone fruit, rounded off with a sweet mandarin citrus finish.'

All profits from the new BrewDog beer will go to Bloody Good Period, a charity who give period products to those that can't afford them, and provide menstrual education to those less likely to access it.

Earlier this year, BrewDog got into a funny exchange on Twitter with Aldi over the supermarket’s Anti Establishment IPA beers.

This led to a collaboration, with BrewDog releasing an Aldi ALD IPA last month – and Aldi stocking the beers. Both businesses pledged to plant a tree each in the BrewDog forest for each case sold.

This forest is part of BrewDog’s commitment to becoming a carbon negative company.

At the time of the ALDI IPA launch,James Watt said: “Ald IPA has been one of our favourite collaborations to date, it’s definitely one no one saw coming.

“From a mockup on Twitter, to being stocked at Aldi stores across the UK, the response has been incredible.

“Most importantly, both BrewDog and Aldi have agreed that for every case sold an extra tree will be planted in the BrewDog Forest. A win-win for our customers, and the planet.”
