The best places to eat and drink in Edinburgh during the Fringe according to Yelp

Online urban city guide and app Yelp has found Edinburgh’s best hot spots to eat and drink for Fringe-goers.

Briony Cullin, Yelp Scotland’s Community Manager says there's a wealth of options for those visiting the capital during the Fringe: “Fringe is such a great time to see Edinburgh come alive. There’s so much to see and do throughout the Festival and with so many bars, cafes and restaurants, there’s something to cater to every taste and budget.”

The Cheese Toast Shack - Summerhall, next to the Meadows

Toasted cheese on wheels! What more could you want? The Cheese Toast Shack’s van is having a special Fringe Fest makeover and will be popping up Edinburgh, from its usual home in St Andrews, for the festival to cater to your gourmet toastie cravings. You can find the van at Summerhall, next to the Meadows.

Badger & Co - 32 Castle Street, Edinburgh EH2 3HT

One of Edinburgh’s favourite new bar restaurants, Badger & Co serves great breakfasts by day and a punchy drinks list by night. It’s open from 8am to cater to your early morning breakfast cravings so is the perfect place to visit for a roll and sausage to get your day started and a fancy cocktails to end your night on a high note.

If all that eating and entertaining has you feeling like you need a health kick, Grams is the place to head. The healthy fast food joint’s raw cakes fly out the door but they do soups, juices, baked potatoes and salads, too.

Rollo’s Stockbridge branch has been such a hit that they’ve decided to open up a new Broughton Street location. Specialising in sharing plates and wine means this is a great spot to make some new friends while sharing your tips for the best shows you’ve seen at the Fringe.

Good Brothers Wine Bar - 4-6 Dean Street, Edinburgh EH4 1LW

Good Brother popped up without much fanfare, just in time for the Fringe Festival. Serving up organic and biodynamic wines to drink in or takeaway, you can also grab a bite to eat if you’re looking for sustenance. An added bonus is that they’re dog friendly if you have your pooch with you.

The Devil’s Advocate - 9 Advocate Close, Edinburgh EH1 1ND

If you’re in town and want to drink where the locals go, this is the spot. Just off the Royal Mile, despite its popularity, The Devil’s Advocate has remained a bit of a hidden gem. Head there for killer cocktails and a buzzy vibe.
