From haggis hurling to whisky tasting, Michelin stars to market stalls, check out some of the special events happening across Scotland over the St Andrew's Day weekend.
This 10 day festival boasts a large and varied programme, with highlights including a spectacular light show over Oban bay, a Reindeer Parade, and whisky tastings galore.

Seven Argyll butchers and haggis makers will go head to head for the coveted Golden Haggis award at the St Andrew's Day Haggis Fest, which also sees locals compete in a “Haggis Hurling” event.

A range of vibrant events fuelled by food and music is the perfect way to celebrate this St Andrew's Day, with local restaurants and Haddington Farmers Market laying on special menus showcasing some of Scotland’s most iconic produce.

Take a trip to the globally renowned Speyside region and discover how some of the best-selling single malts in the world are made. After taking a journey through the distillery from grain to cask, your visit will end with a tutored nosing and tasting of four delectable drams.

In the town which bears his name, St Andrews Day is celebrated with a packed programme of events, culminating in a five-hour street party with performances from top Scottish music acts. Food features throughout the festivities, with highlights including talks from renowned Fife foodies such as Michelin star chef Geoff Smeddle.

Part of Perth Winter Festival, the city’s St Andrew’s Day programme includes a wealth of special stalls at Scotland Street Marketplace, showcasing everything from honey to haggis, smokies to salmon, porridge to popcorn, and baked goods to beer. There will also be cooking demos from some of Perthshire's leading chefs and tasters from local delis and restaurants.

Kids go free at the Scotch Whisky Experience in Edinburgh
A tour with a difference, the Scotch Whisky Experience literally takes you on a ride through the production process, carrying you through a replica distillery in a whisky barrel. Promising to make you a 'one-hour-whisky-expert', over 18s will be treated to a dram of the amber nectar, whilst under 18s can enjoy Scotland’s other national drink – Irn Bru.

Aberdeen celebrates with its St Andrew’s Night Ceilidh on the Terrace, an energetic evening of classic and contemporary Scottish music and dance, including a mass participation Gay Gordons. Plenty of refreshments at the Christmas Village’s traditional Geman market stalls will ensure you enjoy a ‘richt guid nicht’ this St Andrew’s Day!
