Ledaig 18 Year Old

The heavily peated Ledaig 18 Year Old has triumphed in The Whisky Exchange’s annual competition in which members of the public vote to determine the Whisky of the Year. Ledaig, produced at Tobermory distillery on the picturesque Isle of Mull, claimed the top spot in the 9th annual Whisky of the Year blind tasting hosted by The Whisky Exchange.

BenRiach 12 year old

This fruity Speyside single malt was awarded a gold medal at the 2022 Spirit of Speyside Whisky Awards.

Master blender for the distillery, Dr Rachel Barrie, said of this whisky: “The Twelve balances richly sherried malt with added layers of fruit complexity, reaching a pinnacle at twelve years old.”

The Sassenach

Outlander star Sam Heughan's whisky, The Sassenach, has won a plethora of awards including double gold at this year's San Francisco World Spirits Championship.

The blended whisky, which launched in 2020 and was a sell out success, also won silver at this year's Scotch Whisky Masters.

Dewar’s – French Smooth 8 Years Old

This whisky was named best in the 12 Years & Under blended category at the Whisky Magazine Awards. The blended Scotch whisky is finished in Calvados casks giving it a rich, full bodied taste.

The Isle of Raasay Distillery won Scottish Whisky Distillery of the Year and Tourism Destination of the Year at this year’s Scottish Whisky Awards.

The distillery’s inaugural single malt was released in 2020, with the much-anticipated 7,500 bottles snapped up by whisky fans and selected trade partners.

Glenmorangie Grand Vintage Malt 1998

This whisky won a gold medal in t she Single Malt 21 Years Old and Over category at this year’s Scottish Whisky Awards.

It was matured in a mix of casks, including charred virgin American oak, ex-bourbon and oloroso sherry for more than two decades, before being bottled in 2022.

Ardbeg Traigh Bhan Batch 4.

It was a great night at this year’s Scottish Whisky Awards for Islay Distillery Ardbeg, as they were awarded four medals. Included in these was a Gold Medal for their 19 year old, Ardbeg Traigh Bhan Batch 4.

Aerolite Lyndsay

This single malt from Atom Brands won gold at the 2022 Scotch Whisky Masters, in the up to 12 years category.

It was described as being enjoyed for its “sticky fudge on the palate”, and “nice texture and good balance – a lovely sipping whisky”.

Aldi Highland Black Blended Scotch Whisky

This affordable supermarket blended Scotch (£12.99) was awarded a silver medal at this year’s Scotch Whisky Masters. Aldi also picked up a few medals for its whiskies in last year’s Masters, which are judged in a blind‐tasting for this competition.

Aultmore 21YO

This rare Speyside whisky was named overall favourite at the 2022 Spirit of Speyside Whisky Awards. The whisky was matured exclusively in refill hogsheads for over two decades, and is priced around £200. Buy a bottle here.
