The highly anticipated Saint Luke’s only opened in September and is already proving to be one of the hotspots of the year. Formerly a church, the site has been resurrected and updated for the 21st century and is now set to host some major events in the upcoming months.

The multi-purpose venue houses a bar and restaurant – The Winged Ox – and also hosts an array of live music and entertainment backed by on-site booker Chae Houston, Managing Director of Tenement TV.

The Winged Ox – a biblical reference to Saint Luke – has a strong selection of crafts and draughts on offer as well a fine food menu that is good for the soul.

The original stonework and stained glass windows have been lovingly restored and brought back to life. A specially commissioned mural depicting Saint Luke spinning records is also on display.

Saint Luke’s is the latest addition to Glasgow’s burgeoning East End scene and it is hoped the stunning venue will add the area's already growing popularity.

A new German beer hall style bar and restaurant – Bavaria Brauhaus - is set to open this month with owner Raymond Codona hoping to bring a taste of the brewing capital to the Glasgow crowd.

According to Raymond, inspiration for the site has been taken from Munich’s renowned Hofbrauhaus – a multi-story beer hall that dates back to the 16th century – with a focus on German cuisine with Bavarian Beer.

The £1 million project occupies an A-listed building - which was previously home to Madness theatre of fun - and is set to become the city’s largest German-themed licensed premises.

In an interview with STV earlier in the year, Raymond said: “The Bavarian culture is such a vibrant and atmospheric one, that the opportunity to replicate it in Scotland, especially in Glasgow, is truly fantastic.”

The interior is reported to be ornate and traditional complete with German fixtures and fittings. Bavaria Brauhaus will also feature a specially commissioned mural painted by Glasgow artist Nichol Wheatley.

Bavaria Brauhaus will officially launch on 12th November 2015 and is not to be missed!

Glasgow certainly loves a bit of live music but Lou57nge owner’s Nicola Pitticas’ travels to London and New York has inspired her to take Glasgow’s love of live music to the next level.

Lou57nge will not be your typical wine or cocktail bar, as the entire bar staff will also be singing and showcasing their talents as well.

Set to open this month, Lou57nge owner Nicola Pitticas - who recently won New Entrepreneur of the Year at the BWS Awards - told the Scotsman Food & Drink: “Lou57nge have teamed up with Assam Restaurant next door to offer Glasgow something a little different – the best night out experience in Glasgow.

“We want to provide customers with entertainment whilst they enjoy the amazing atmosphere, our talented in-house staff and the cocktails we have on offer.”
