Award-winning Black Isle restaurant The Anderson to raise funds for Lebanese explosion victims

The award-winning bar and restaurant will be serving a special dinner to raise funds for the Lebanese Red Cross.

The Anderson in Fortrose will raise funds to help victims of the recent explosion in Lebanon through sales of dinners taking place over the weekend of 21-23 August.

Jim Anderson, co-owner of the award-winning restaurant with rooms on the Black Isle, will match all donations made by his dinner customers over the weekend, to benefit the Lebanese Red Cross.

“This is the sort of tragedy that requires global support”, says Jim Anderson, who moved to the Highlands in 2003 from the USA.

“There is no such thing as too small a donation.”

What's on the menu?

The latest in their programme of internationally-themed Lockdown Menus, The Anderson will feature authentic Lebanese dishes on Saturday 22 August, including Kibbeh, Maalouf and Shawarma; as well as their menu of pub classics on Friday 21 and Sunday 23 August.

Meals are available to take away from 5pm-9pm all three nights, with a limited number of tables also available for dining in on Friday and Saturday.

Customers will be able to make donations of £1 or £5 through the online ordering page on The Anderson’s website or in person when dining in.

The Anderson was established in 2003 by Jim and Anne Anderson on the Black Isle, 11 miles north east of Inverness.

The restaurant with rooms has won awards including the Scottish Chefs Award, CAMRA Pub of the Year, Ambassadeur d’Orval and Whisky Magazine’s Whisky Bars of the World.
