The unique collaboration between Glasgow-based Drygate Brewing Co and the author is named Killer Twist and features the first chapter of Brookmyre’s chilling new paperback Fallen Angel on the beer can.
Fans can enjoy a taster of the book as they savour the 6% ABV grapefruit IPA inside, which is described as being a hazy amber with a creamy head and "packed with Cascade hops and toasty rye".
Beer and fiction fans are invited to attend the Killer Twist launch night hosted at Drygate’s Beer Hall on World Book Day (5th March) at 6:30pm, which includes a beer tasting, discussion, and book signing from Brookmyre.
Rob MacKay, Creative and Marketing Director at Drygate commented: “Scotland is famed for its evocative writers and skilled brewers, and we’re proud to be bringing the two together to promote the incredible literary talent that lives in our community.
"We’re always keen to raise a beer to local creatives and to make the arts more open and accessible; Killer Twist has allowed us to reach new audiences with great beer and gripping tales.”
Chris Brookmyre, author of Fallen Angel, added: “It would be fair to say that a lot of Drygate went into the process of writing Fallen Angel, so it seems highly appropriate that this collaborative Convergence celebrates both what is on the inside and the outside of the can.”
Killer Twist is the latest release from Drygate’s Convergence concept, an ongoing series of unique small-batch releases which combines creativity in all varieties with the brewing process, celebrating music, art, brewing and beyond.
Killer Twist is available to buy at www.drygate.com, and people looking to attend the launch event can find tickets here.
