Aldi is set to help gin fans get ready for autumn with the launch of its first ever gingerbread gin liqueur

In a bid to help gin fans get ready for the onset of autumn and winter, supermarket chain Aldi has announced the launch of its first ever gingerbread gin liqueur.

The brand announced the new gin as part of plans to increase its gin and gin liqueur offering by 60 per cent this autumn, as the country’s thirst for the spirit continues to grow - with a whopping 12,500 bottles being bought every day.

As part of its biggest gin and gin liqueur range yet, the supermarket will be making the Gingerbread gin liqueur (£9.99), available in stores and online from 1st October.

The liqueur is described as being characterised by "warming notes of ginger, cinnamon, vanilla and orange" and the team say it is best enjoyed with a "splash of tonic water or simply served neat over ice".

The new expression follows the launch of Aldi's popular Passionfruit Gin Liqueur (£9.99) in July – which sold out in just two days.

Both the Passionfruit Gin Liqueur and the firm's Pink Gin (£10.99) are also set to return this autumn – available in stores and online from October 1st.
