In the pictures, taken in the SsangSsang beer pub in Gwanghwamun, situated round the corner from his Seoul presidential residence, President Moon Jae-in can be seen sharing pints of Tennent's with a group of around 30 people all differently impacted by the latest economic policy decisions in the country.
A surprise visit, the Korean leader sat down with job seekers, owners of small businesses, self-employed, and wage workers for a quiet pint of Tennent's.
Alan McGarrie, group brand director at Tennent’s said: “Tennent’s Lager is enjoyed by loyal punters in all corners of the world, but to see that South Korea’s president keeps his local stocked up with Scotland’s favourite beer shows that he’s a real fan.
“We’re already looking forward to President Moon Jae-in’s next visit to the UK so we can invite him on a tour of our famous Wellpark home where Tennent’s has been brewing continuously on the same site since 1556.”
This is the second notable time that the Scottish brewing giant's lager has received a presidential seal of approval, with Barack Obama reportedly giving the beer a public shout-out during a charity dinner in Scotland in 2016.
