The restaurant, which is run by chef John McNulty and sommelier David Lapsley, focuses on innovative cooking with local produce within their affordable a la carte and tasting menus.

This Sunday, their three course Mother's Day set menu includes dishes such as Loch Fyne smoked salmon, the Etive fish pie and slow poached rhubarb crumble - all for £28 per person.

This hidden gem will open specially for Mother's Day on the 11th March.

The cosy family-run basement restaurant on St Stephen’s Street normally opens in the daytime by request only, but will open its doors early for mothers and families to enjoy a celebratory lunch between 12:30 and 2:00pm.

Every Mum will be welcomed with a complimentary glass of fizz, before tucking into a contemporary Scottish menu in the two AA Rosette restaurant.

Dishes on the Mother's Day menu include: Wild mushroom soup with croutons; Butternut squash tortellini with roasted squash, cherry tomatoes, wild mushrooms and sage butter sauce and Chocolate brûlée with chocolate brownie, white chocolate mousse and milk chocolate ice cream.

The Malmaison Hotel group have not one but three Mother's Day offerings available this weekend.
