Whisky consultant and World Whisky Day founder Blair Bowman has teamed up with drinks writer Nikki Welch - who had previously created the Wine Tube Map - to produce new book The Pocket Guide to Whisky and create the Whisky Tube Map, which the pair describe as a new and accessible way of navigating whisky.
Blair said: "The map and guide arrange selected whiskies on ‘lines’ according to flavour, to allow both the whisky novice and the connoisseur to navigate the world of whisky by taste. Interchange stations allow adventurous drinkers to venture further afield with confidence. The Pocket Guide to Whisky explores every kind of whisky, from the well-known Scottish giants, to the exotic Japanese Hibiki. The guide also connects bourbon, rye and the growing and hotly debated variety of premier blended whiskies to the renowned great malts."
For the tasting, the pair brought along a Dewar's 12-years-old, an Aberfeldy 12 and a Talisker 10, which Nikki explained represented several key areas of the Tube Map.
