Seafood festival set to launch in Glasgow this month

Seafood lovers should mark the 16th September in their diaries as Glasgow's latest festival is set to launch, and it's all about seafood.

Hosted by the Clyde Fisherman's Trust, the event will take place in the Briggait - the former Glasgow fish market that traded for over 100 years.

The Fisherman's Trust is a charity linked to the Clyde Coast and has been established by local sustainable fishermen to support and revitalise the wider Clyde area.

The Trust supports and develops work in the fields of education, science, heritage, culture, the arts and community development.

From 10am-4pm, real fishermen, who work on the Clyde, will be selling their catch straight from the boats.

Plus there will also be live music, face painting, market stalls selling fresh and cooked seafood meals (think Cullen Skink, fresh prawns and Haddock) and cooking demos, making this a great family day out.

In the evening, the premiere of the play 'Something Fishy' will be on from 7.30pm, followed by a ceilidh from the Real Stramash at 9pm.
