6 exciting gin events coming soon to Scotland

We take a look at some of the most exciting gin events that are happening around Scotland this year.

Scotland’s gin business is booming, with new launches occurring on a seemingly monthly basis.

If mother’s ruin is your drink of choice, and you want to combine it with some travel around the country, then we have picked some of the best gin events that are coming to Scotland in the next few months.

Eden Mill Masterclass

20th April – 1st Sept, Waldorf Astoria The Caledonian, Edinburgh

Find out how to mix gin cocktails like a pro, whilst enjoying the luxurious setting of the five star Waldorf Astoria hotel. Eden Mill mixologists will be on hand to show you the ropes, starting with a tasting session, which leads on to you creating your own concoction.

Lasting two hours, this is a fun way to learn more about gin and don’t forget, tickets include three cocktails.

Junefest

2nd – 3rd June, Dalgety Bay, Fife

This annual, family-friendly festival has branched out to include a variety of gins that will be available for tasting.

A selection of beers and ciders are also available, with proceeds from the event, held at Dalgety Bay Sailing Club, going to charity.

Juniper Cruise

29th April and 27th May, Fountainbridge, Edinburgh

Set sail along the Union Canal, and get ready to enjoy a couple of hours finding out the history of gin before sampling five different types, from neat to cocktails.

Snacks are provided from Edinburgh based company, Inside Out Chef.

Milngavie Gin Festival

21st-22nd July, Milngavie, Glasgow

Nothing heralds the start of summer in Scotland than the arrival of various festivals, which this year includes Milngavie’s first ever gin offering.

Visitors can enjoy samples from featured brands such as Harris Gin, Eden Mill, Caorunn, Gin Mare and Rock Rose. Enthusiasts will also enjoy talks from industry experts.

The Wee G&T Festival

16th September, Salutation Hotel, Perth

Relax and enjoy a range of gins in Scotland’s oldest hotel. The Wee G&T Festival is back for its second year and includes over 50 different gin tastings, workshops, gin-inspired recipes, cocktails and the chance to meet distillers.

With so much going on, it’s easy to see why this wee festival sold out last year.

The Gin Fayre

23rd September, Bonar Hall, Dundee

After launching in St Andrews this year, The Gin Fair is set to hold another event in Dundee’s Bonar Hall.

Visitors are given a Gin Handbook on arrival, which has information on each of the gins available (there’s over 50 on offer) including tonic and garnish pairings.
